WOMEN WRITE NOW is an initiative dedicated to amplifying the voices of Black female screenwriters from Hartbeat, the multi-platform media company founded by Kevin Hart.
This immersive fellowship, developed in partnership with Sundance Institute, provides three writers with support through mentorship, advocacy, production and exhibition. Selected writers will develop their short comedic scripts under the guidance of some of the most influential Black women in comedy. The resulting scripts will be produced by Hartbeat, will premiere at a special screening during the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, and will be distributed by Hartbeat.
At the start of the program, each of the selected fellows will also receive a one year first-look deal with Hartbeat.
